To celebrate their 35th Anniversary, Italian speaker aficionados Sonus Faber have reimagined one of their classic models, the Electa Amator. The new version called Electa Amator III keeps the key design and integrity of the original but with a unique modern twist.
All Sonus Faber speakers are beautiful to look at but on this model in particular is very nice. The cabinet harmoniously combines; solid walnut wood that becomes an integral body with the Carrara marble base, through a brass insert that illuminates the lines and enhances each material. Hand-applied leather envelopes the rear panel and front baffle which houses the Voice of Sonus faber.
Since their official release earlier this year, these speakers have gained some fantastic reviews in very respectable magazines. Online reviewer Mono Stereo wrote –
“From all of the perspectives this is rather a refreshing surprise. Like the design itself, the particular sonic outcome is making Electa Amator III standing on their own in the Sonus faber portfolio and this will undoubtedly draw many people to investigate into them. Even outside of typical audiophile circles. All in all, it’s hard not to be enthusiastic about these Italian beauties aesthetically and sound wise!”
Another sterling review came from Hifi News who wrote “After many ups-and-downs with Sonus Faber over the past decade, it warms my heart to be able to call the Electa Amator III ‘the best I’ve heard from the brand since the original Guarneri. Yes, it’s that impressive, that commanding, that correct. Above all, it does exactly what the late Franco Serblin demanded of all his creations: it reproduces music so convincingly that the listener is transported. Bravissimo!’
