French manufacturer Devialet are well-known to audiophiles for their sleek ‘Expert’ amplifiers and impressive ‘Phantom’ speakers but this week the highly regarded company is entering a new market with the release of a new soundbar entitled ‘Dione‘.
As with all their products Devialet doesn’t just want to produce what everyone else is doing, they want to innovate. Dione has 17 speakers elements, 950 Watt peak power and 101db sound pressure and it supports Dolby Atmos with its 5.1.2 configurations.
SPACE™ technology opens up a new dimension of sound. A patented algorithm upscales any mono or stereo signal into a 5.1.2 signal for an all-enveloping, multi-layered, deeply immersive sound experience, whatever the content you’re enjoying.
The Dione is a beautiful product to look at but perhaps its most eye-catching feature is its ‘ORB’. This is the sperichal centre channel speaker which is designed to adapt mechanically and acoustically to the position of the soundbar, either wall-mounted or placed on a piece of furniture.
The Dione connects to TV audio via HDMI eARC, and also supports Bluetooth, Airplay 2 and Spotify Connect. It can also be controlled via the Devialet app and integrated into a larger multi-room system.
Room correction technology helps tailor the Dione experience to your room. Using the Devialet app you can scan using Dione’s four calibration microphones to establish an accurate acoustic model of your room.
Dione works on the same system as Phantoms meaning you can integrated it into your current home Devialet system and use the multi-room functionality.
