Flagship of Homage Tradition collection, Amati is the new reference floor standing loudspeaker in the Sonus faber catalogue, right after Il Cremonese, Lilium and Aida, from which inherits many technical solutions and patents.

Since its introduction in the nineties the Sonus Faber Homage collection has been a staple of their range. The collection is a tribute to the mastery of Italian violin-making; the now classic lute shape, the hallmark of Sonus faber production, has been revisited and taken to new heights by embodying both the classic lines of the Homage collection and those of the Lilium cabinet, thus giving new volumes to the speakers of this collection.

Sonus Faber have long been known for making some of the most beautifully crafted speakers in the world. Their mix of high-end audiophile quality sound quality and stunning luxurious design has led them to become one of the industry leaders.

Though the new Tradition range has many new features, there is a definite nod to Sonus Faber speakers of old. The classic ‘Lute’ shape is still key to the design. The curves of the sides change and double, blending the lines of previous Homage models with those inherited from Lilium, giving these speakers larger volumes especially on the back. A huge amount of research has gone into these cabinets to ensure they limit the internal resonance as much as is possible.

Many of the patents and development of Lilium, Il Cremonese and the Olympica Collection have now been utilised in the design of the Homage Tradition. The ‘Stealth Ultraflex’ is the evolution of the Stealth Reflex system; its external part at the back panel is in extruded Aluminium and controls the flow of air through the duct while controlling its speed and reducing any turbulence and hence distortion. The back too is part of the Exoskeleton system complete with Dampshelves on top and bottom of the speakers. Serafino features the ‘Silent Spikes’, coaxial metal/elastomer/metal spikes which reinterpret the classic patented Z.V.T. (Zero Vibration Transmission) system and derive from Il Cremonese.
