Wilson Audio Sasha Daw Loudspeakers Arrive In London

We are very pleased to have received the latest loudspeaker from world renowned US manufacturer Wilson Audio. The Sasha DAW is the latest incarnation of Wilson’s most popular model.

Dedicated to Wilson’s legendary late founder David Andrew Wilson, this was the last speaker he designed (with the assistance of his son Daryl). The DAW sees some significant improvements to the Sasha II, in fact it is the largest upgrade in the history of the WATT/Puppy and Sasha platforms.

Firstly the woofer has been completely redesigned. Based on the 8-inch driver found in the Alexia Series-2, but tailored to the specific needs of the Sasha. The bass enclosure has also had a complete makeover with thicker X-material panels to further reduce panel resonances. Enclosure volume was increased by 13.3%, which allows for greater bottom-octave authority and reduced distortion. The blades on the top of the module, where its companion midrange/tweeter rests, have been strategically redesigned with openings, which reduces cavity pressure in the space between the upper and lower modules. Finally, a new, ultra-low-turbulence port reduces already low unwanted wind-born noise.

The midrange and tweeters are the same units used in the WAMM Master Chronosonic, and an all-new crossover blends the entire recipe together.

The new binding post is easier to tighten by hand, and also features a banana plug option. Debuting on the Sasha DAW, the new Wilson Audio connector resets the bar for reliability and sonic integrity.

The Resistor Plate Cover is now removable without the aid of tools. It provides easy access to the resistors, which act as an extremely high-quality protection system for the drivers. The resistors also enable the fine tuning of the driver blend in those rare installations that benefit from this adjustment. A tempered-glass cover is elegantly integrated into the plate.

Our initial thoughts on the sound are extremely positive. This speaker is incredibly natural and smooth. Everything seems a lot more effortless than on previous incarnations. They seem to have a certain magic which we first heard on the Wilson Tunetots last year, and if you heard our thoughts on those you would know we love those speakers. The Sasha DAW managed to do what was so great with the Tunetot but on a much grander scale. Absolute spellbinding.

Demonstrations are now available. Please get in touch to book an appointment.
