Naim Audio

KJ West One is a Naim Audio specialist. As well as having the largest collection of Naim products in London, we are the only hi-fi showroom in the UK with the flagship Statement on permanent demonstration

British audio is regarded the world over, for many reasons. Build quality, musicality and design to name a few. When thinking of successful British hi-fi brands there are a few that come instantly to mind. Naim is one of those brands.

It has been over 40 years since founder Julian Vereker first designed the NAP 200 power amplifier in Salisbury, the city which Naim still calls home to this day.

The NAP 200 was a real trail-blazer in the industry. At the time manufacturers were not putting too much effort into power amplifiers, most believed it was the speaker quality that ultimately determined the sound quality of the system and the power amp was simply a means to power them. Many believe that the ideas and development that Vereker put into Naim amplifiers changed this mentality in the industry for the better.

Naim went on to develop a huge range of successful products from CD players and record players to speakers and cables, building a strong reputation for sonic excellence throughout the 70s, 80s and 90s. Never a company to sit back, Naim embraced digital music in the 00's and have become a reference point for most when it comes to modern devices like streamers, DACs, servers and all-in-one systems.

In 2011, development began on the largest and most ambitious Naim product yet, their reference Pre/power amplifier ‘Statement’. The name of this product says it all, Statement was Naim’s way of reminding audiophiles that they are a company that is at the forefront of high-end audio.

We are currently the only hi-fi shop in the UK to have the Statement on permanent demonstration, something we are very proud of.

The design of Naim products has been modernised a lot over the years, but the general 'black box' look is something that remains, making the majority of their products instantly recognisable by the eye as well as the ear.

Naim products are also known for their longevity, largely due to the quality of materials used and the attention-to-detail employed by the engineers. These are products that are built to last, not fail after 2 or 3 years. It is not uncommon for Naim products to be used for 20-30 years. Of course, Naim do not sit on their laurels, they are constantly improving and upgrading their products.

The Naim engineering facility in Salisbury houses their team of 34 R&D engineers, this is where all their products are hand built and tested to their particularly high standards. With many staff members having been there for over ten years, the company likes to think of itself as more of a 'family'.

Much like Julian’s NAP 200, the team prides itself on ignoring the passing trends; they prefer to make all decisions on their products in the listening room.

At KJ West One, we have a huge range of Naim in our Central London showroom available to demo, from the Mu-So all-in-one system up to Statement. If you are interested in entering our ‘World of Naim’ please arrange a visit now.
